Set against the gritty, visceral backdrop of a traditional bull-fighting village in Sukhothai, Thailand, this elevated folk-horror thriller explores the terrifying lengths one young woman will go to for true autonomy.

Kwan is an orphan suffocating under the iron grip of her family, specifically her oppressive uncle, Yos, and a demanding grandmother who views her solely as an indentured caretaker. Since childhood, Kwan’s survival has been credited to Mae Sameang, a sacred local shrine renowned for its dark, ancient power to break and tame the wildest fighting bulls. For Kwan, this is no mere superstition; she has always felt the spirit lingering beneath her skin.

When her estranged, free-spirited aunt returns from Bangkok offering a ticket out, Kwan is paralyzed by a chilling realization: physical distance will never sever her family's psychological chains. To truly escape, she must conquer them.

Abandoning her plans to flee, Kwan instead weaponizes her village’s dark folklore. In a suspenseful psychological descent, she subjects her own flesh and blood to the brutal rituals used on livestock—methodically breaking their wills and taming them into absolute submission. What begins as a desperate bid for independence morphs into a horrifying metamorphosis, as the oppressed girl stops praying to the local deity and becomes it.
